Enforcement & Content
The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is committed to maintaining and enhancing the integrity of the engineering profession in line with the Engineering Profession Act, 46 of 2000, as amended. ECSA ensures compliance with regulatory frameworks and rules designed to protect the public and promote ethical engineering practices.
Enforcement activities of the Council involve systematically investigating breaches of statutory regulations, unauthorised engineering practices, and non-compliance with mandatory engineering standards, including the Identification of Engineering Work. The Council collaborates closely with industry stakeholders, government authorities, and professional bodies to ensure consistent, transparent, and fair enforcement processes.
Through monitoring and continuous stakeholder engagement, ECSA not only addresses violations but also proactively cultivates a robust culture of compliance, integrity, and excellence within the engineering profession.
Allegations, concerns, reports, or related submissions concerning enforcement matters must be directed to the Improper Conduct Business Unit at: ecsa-ic@ecsa.co.za
