Mentor Programme

Mentor / Mentee Programme

The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), recognises mentorship as a vital component in the journey towards professional registration. The Mentor–Mentee Programme is designed to support Candidate Engineering Professionals by guiding them through a structured, competency-based training process that aligns with ECSA’s professional standards.

Need a Mentor?

Looking for a mentor to support your journey?

Please note: Mentors participate voluntarily and may accept or decline requests at their discretion.

The programme aims to:

  • Facilitate meaningful mentoring relationships that shape future professionals,
  • Support candidates in acquiring the necessary competencies for registration,
  • Promote the development of responsible, ethical, and technically proficient Professional Engineering Practitioners.

While it is possible to apply for registration without having a mentor, ECSA strongly recommends mentorship as the preferred route for professional development.
