It is with heartfelt sorrow that the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) announces the passing of Mr Robert “Bob” Alexander Pullen, who served the engineering profession with exceptional dedication, integrity, and leadership.

Mr Pullen, who passed away on 27 May 2025, was ECSA’s longest-serving President and a revered figure in South Africa’s engineering community.
Throughout his career, he championed the regulation, development, and transformation of the profession, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire engineering practitioners and institutions alike.
